Jamie LaVette Elaine McCloud Perez entered into peaceful rest on November 29, 2007 at the age of 44 in San Antonio, TX. Jamie was the wife of Felix Perez, the mother of daughter Mercedes Christine Suki McCloud Perez, the daughter of the late Ellen Christine McCloud and the sister of Barbara Andrews Harvey. Jamie was born in Sanford, FL. She was baptized and an active member of Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church in Palmetto, FL. Jamie was an honor graduate of Manatee High School. Jamie was an active member of the Southeastern Region of Jack and Jill of Jamie is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In 1985, Jamie graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. In addition to her several assignments in the U.S. and overseas, Jamie served our country in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Jamie was an active member of Mount Zion First Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX; her pastor is Rev. Otis Mitchell. In addition to her husband and daughter, survivors include sister, Barbara Harvey; nieces, Natasha Hogan, Meathor Thomas, Nadia Harvey, Melissa Robertson, and Marquita Robertson; mother and father-in-law, Mamerto and Suki Perez; sisters in law, Patty Daniel and Cathy Novosad; and brothers-in-law Robert Perez and Richard Perez and their respective families. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 6th at the MeadowLawn Tribute Center, 5611 E. Houston St. Memorial services will be held on Friday December 7th at 11:00 AM at Mount Zion First Baptist Church, 333 Martin Luther King Dr., San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the �Jamie McCloud Perez Scholarship Fund� care of the Mount Zion First Baptist Church. A perpetual memorial is online at www.JamieMcCloudPerez.com.   6. Jamie and I were friends in Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and would connect at conventions. She was on my mind and I was trying to find her and her obit popped up. I am saddened that we did not reconnect earlier. God bless her soul and prayers for her family and friends.
