Jana Renee Rice was born, November 19, 1978 in Little Rock, Arkansas to James and Edith (Dodie) Rice. Jana passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Jana is survived by her two sons. James Aiden Swatek and Joseph Asher Swatek; parents, Dodie and James Rice; Sister, Cassie DeAnne Platt; and several nieces and nephews.
Jana’s love for life included children, crafts, music, Gerber daisies, and sunflowers. She cherished the arrival of the cool Autumn breezes and would open the windows to clean her home while listening to R&B, hip hop, and 80’s pop. Madonna was her favorite. The scents of rosemary and sage gently filled her home, as well as the aroma of her homemade specialty treats, such as fudge and peanut butter granola bars. Dr. Pepper and M & M’s were Jana’s favorite snack, and white was her favorite color.
Jana has left many wonderful memories that will always be cherished. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Jana was my best friend for 21 years. I loved her dearly. I miss her every single day. The morning text message of Good Morning Sunshine, the midnight margarita’s ,the funny inside jokes. A huge light was put out in my life . She was a kind , funny spirit. I will miss you my Lyzard. Until we meet again.
It’s been a year today you were taken away from us. I miss you even more now. Your crazy spirit , your ability to laugh at yourself, you just loved people. I still miss your morning text of “Good morning Sunshine” It’s so hard for simply task, I can’t decorate my house because I need your approval. But, I can feel you with me. …I love you . We are family ,we always will be, you’re my person.
