Born in: San Antonio, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Jeffery Patrick Tynes was born in San Antonio, Texas to Howard Wesley Tynes and Mabel Ann Tobin Tynes on November 11, 1955.

He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1973.  Following high school, Jeffery worked for Church’s Chicken for over ten years, until he became ill.  He suffered from schizophrenia most of his life until his death.  Jeffery was cared for by the late Ms. Lolita Garcia until her passing two years ago.  She was his caregiver and provider for thirteen years.  Under her care he excelled mentally and physically.  Lolita was like a sister to him, she spoiled him and loved him like family.  Jeffery took her loss very seriously and was still struggling with her loss.

Jeffery was a kind soul, loved God and read the Bible every day, sometime hours at a time.  He attended Believers Christian Center faithfully before the pandemic and was in the process of physically rejoining the church for services.  He had an infectious smile and laugh.  Any time some one would come into his path he would speak to them, “How you doing sir” or “How you doing ma’am”.  Even though he did not have a lot of extra money, Jeffery was generous and gave to anyone who needed help.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Ann Tynes and Howard Wesley Tynes; siblings, Norman Wesley Tynes, Timothy Christian Tynes and Celia Tynes.  Jeffery leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Mabel A. Tynes, Sandra Annette Hartley, Paulette Angela Tynes and Martin Wesley Tynes; beloved nephews, Marcus Tynes and Carlos Tynes and beloved niece, Flatina Tynes as well as other relatives and friends.

  1. CandleImageMy Dear Brother Jeffrey,

Words cannot explain the sudden loss of a wonderful and dear brother. Thoughts fill my mind of how I could have visited more or called more. Instead I choose to think of all the good times we had together. I will miss your hugs, smile and infectious laugh. You were a shining star here on earth. You now shine bright in Heave. Rest in peace my little brother. I will miss you much.

    Your Sister,
    Sandra A. Hartley
