Jenica Rose Garcia

jenica garcia
On June 13, 2020 at the age of 19 Jenica Rose Garcia entered the Kingdom of Heaven and into her glorified mansion. She was born October 19, 2000 to Enrique Hernandez and Gloria Villanueva in San Antonio, Texas. Jenica was the baby of seven children on her maternal side and the baby of three children on her paternal side. She loved that she was born into a large family, especially when we gathered together for the holidays and family game nights. From a young age, Jenica enjoyed spending her days at downtown San Antonio; from playing at Hemisphere Park as a young child, and taking her boys there as a mother, to countless walks on the riverwalk, horse carriage rides, shopping, and dinning, it never got old. Although her parents were born and raised on the westside, Jenica grew up on the southside and yet ironically the westside of San Antonio is where Jenica often drew her attention, specifically Woodlawn Park and nearby restaurants. Aside from her close encounters with the outdoors, before motherhood, she longed to become a fashion model to not only display her beauty, but also her passion for fashion. Her interest in modeling soon took a turn when she became a mother. Motherhood absorbed much of her time as she valued her parenting role and strived each day to be a better mother. As she managed her parenting duties to Josiah and Jaiden, ages 4 and 1 respectively, she picked up an interest for learning to apply makeup that later developed into a passion to pursue a career in becoming a makeup artist, but was put off until her children were school-aged. A unique character of simple and reserved is who Jenica was. It did not take much to entertain her as she appreciated the small things of life. Those that knew Jenica could attest she was slow to anger and avoid conflict at all cost. To know of Jenica was to know a peacemaker. During her last days she was surrounded by those who were dear to her and although her presence is gone, her spirit will forever live on. Jenica leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Josiah Julian Garcia and Jaiden Edward Garcia; parents, Gloria Villanueva and Enrique Hernandez; siblings, Valerie Trinidad, Aaron C. Villanueva, Zondrietta Medina, Sarah J. Middleton, Joshua D. Villanueva, and Aisha Villanueva; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
