Jimmie Amanda Cunningham was born June 10, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to loving parents Dan Cunningham and Elizabeth L. Salone. She entered eternal rest the evening of September 28, 2023 at the age of ninety.

Jimmie was nothing short of an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and friend. She accepted Christ at an early age and remained involved in her church for many years. Jimmie enjoyed gardening, reading, as well as volunteering. She would often devote her time volunteering in various nursing homes and other facilities. Jimmie also had a passion for learning and continuing her education, eventually achieving her doctorate degree.  Jimmie’s pure heart and positive energy will live on in the hearts of those that knew her.

She is preceded in death by both parents, as well as her children Agnes, Bill, Betty, Kemp, and Kirk. Left to cherish her memory is her youngest daughter, Yvette. Jimmie leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten. She will be missed dearly by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

  4. CandleImageMs. Jimmie: I have known you all of my LIFE, from Kenwood, Zilla St., Agnes St., & all of your Children, as well, except for Yvette, which I never had the pleasure of meeting. You were one of my Mom’s BEST FRIENDS, which I was still a Child. I was so very saddened to see that YOU ARE RESTING. My Mom was Jeraline Wilson Govan Johnson, who died on 12-19-2003. Our entire Families were very close as I grew up. I was not surprised that YOU sought & received YOUR Doctorate. YOU always had that extra, special drive to thrive further, & I am so proud to know that YOU MADE IT, Ms. Jimmie. I will MISS YOU so very much. Rest Well In Eternal Life In Heaven, Ms. Jimmie, because YOU SO VERY EARNED IT. With ALL My LOVE/RESPECT/HONOR/PRAISE…Sleep Well, Ms. Jimmie, With Our LORD, FATHER GOD…Chere Jo Govan, Jeraline’s Middle Daughter from Kenwood.
