February 2, 1946 ~ July 12, 2013
The love of my life, my best friend, Jimmy went home to be with his heavenly Father on July 12, 2013. Jimmy was a loving husband, caring father and a wonderful provider for his family.
Jimmy was born in Baton Rouge, La. on February 2, 1946 to Norrie Lee and Robert John Tucker. Jimmy graduated from Istrouma High School and attended LSU. Jimmy & Jodie moved to New Orleans in 1970. Jimmy has been a resident of San Antonio since 1980.
He was a Regional Sales manager for RCA Corporation until 1987, at which time his career ended because of severe heart disease. He became a neighborhood advocate in order to help other people. He made a lasting impact on the people whose lives he touched. Jimmy served as a neighborhood leader in numerous positions and was asked to volunteer on many non-profit, city and county committees.
He had many hobbies: basketball, softball, soccer, bowling, but his one great love was being on a lake fishing.
Jimmy was raised a Baptist and as a devout christian his faith carried him through many endeavors in life. Jimmy was a member of First Baptist Church of Helotes. He loved attending bible classes and working in Vacation Bible School. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jodie, a daughter, Jill, son Jay, all of San Antonio. Two sisters, Mrs. Bobbye Lee Mcinnis and Mrs.Debra Harris (Doug), four nieces and a nephew, numerous family members and friends.
The family wishes to thank the following physicians; Maria Jirka, Robert Kalter, Gerald Sioco and Kiran Jayaram for their kind and dedicated care of Jimmy throughout the years.
A private memorial service, with his family, will be held to celebrate Jimmy's life.
