Jo Ann Robinson Brown
October 29, 1953 ~ May 2, 2022
Born in:
San Antonio , Texas
Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
On October 29, 1953, Jo Ann Robinson was born in San Antonio, TX. She was the first of two daughters born to Joe and Clara Robinson. As a child, she was surrounded by family and friends that all lived in close proximity, making her childhood a unique and wonderful experience.
Jo Ann graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in 1971. She was a student at The University of the Incarnate Word and during this time, she met and married the love of her life, Eugene Ceasar Brown. From this union were born three boys: Joseph, Jason, and Jeremy.
After their sons were old enough, Jo Ann decided to finish her higher education and she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. She graduated with honors and made the Dean’s List. After graduating, she gained experience and made wonderful friends while working in different capacities, but she eventually moved to the education field, from which she retired after many years of service. Along with her beloved husband, Jo Ann instilled irreplaceable values into her sons, including a strong work ethic, respect for all people, and a deep love for music.
After the passing of her father in 1975, she was once again met with storms when her first-born son, her mother, and her husband all passed away within a five-year period. With her two remaining sons having moved out to start their own lives, it was then that her sister Mary and their beloved Aunt Truler would move in with her and start the next chapter of their lives, pursuing adventure after adventure.
Jo Ann went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 2, 2022. She was preceded in this transformative journey by her father and mother, Joe and Clara, her son, Joseph, and her husband, Eugene. She leaves to carry on her legacy her aunt Truler, sister Mary, son Jason and his fiancée Gail, her son Jeremy and his wife Maryam, her three grandchildren, Kaleb, Kiyan and Layla, and an abundance of beloved cousins, relatives, and friends.

My deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I have always held the Brown family close to my heart. We have been neighbors (family) for over 30 years. Mr. and Mrs. Brown always made me feel loved and welcome in their home. I made it a point for my son to know Mrs. Brown as he grew up. I remember bringing him to meet Mr. and Mrs. Brown when he was only 2 days old. They held him, loved him, and enjoyed every minute. Mrs. Brown loved watching him grow up, learning to swim and kept up with his progress as he swam competitively. She loved when we stopped by to say hi and truly enjoyed our visits. She was definitely like another Mom to me. I will miss her dearly and will always hold her dear to my heart.

Extending my deepest and heartfelt condolences, thoughts, prayers and love to the Brown and Robinson family. Jo Ann and the family and my family have been friends for 47 years, from Torrejon Air Base, Spain to Lackland AFB, Texas; even with miles away from each other we still kept in touch. I truly hank God for our Friendship/Sistership. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rest in the loving arms of Jesus, my Sister, I love you.❤🙏🏽❤🌹
