JoAnn Kuykendall-Jackson

JoAnn Kuykendall-Jackson made her transition to be with the Lord on November 25, 2023 at the blessed age of 72. She was born on July 29, 1951 in Corpus Christi, TX to Mason and Mary Kuykendall.

JoAnn accepted Christ at Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Fredrick Fillmore, Sr. She received her formal education in the Corpus Christi School System and graduated from Foy H. Moody High School. She continued her education in the nursing program at Delmar College and entered the workforce as a nurses aid working in the neonatal unit at Ben Taub Hospital.

JoAnn had a great love and genuine passion for children. She enjoyed interacting, teaching and caring for them. She always spoke about enjoying the little things in life and often shared her evocations she treasured with her precious mother.

JoAnn is now joined with her heavenly family; beloved parents, Mason and Mary Kuykendall; husband, Lester Jackson; aunt, Millard Kuykendall and dear niece, Tamara Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Ann Andrews, Marilyn Pierre (Darrold), Mary Kuykendall; nephews, Vincent Matthews, Delton Kuykendall (Cheron), Johnson Henderson; nieces, Venus Smith (James), Adwanys Casanova, Kujuanna Kuykendall; a host of family and friends.

JoAnn will be remembered for her candid personality, high spirits, and unwavering love for others. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service for Joann will be held on December 9, 2023 at 11AM at Friendship Baptist Church, 4726 Friendship Drive, Corpus Christi, TX.
