Joe went home to be with the Lord on January 31st, 2023, at the age of 76. He was Born on July 13th, 1946 to Annie Mae & James Campbell Sr. Joe grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he attended Cuney Elementary, James Whitcomb Riley Junior High and George W. Brackenridge High School. Joe served in the US Army and did a tour in the Vietnam War.  While serving he received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received an honorable discharge in 1967. Following his military service Joe worked at Fredricks, Washington Inc. and various other jobs. He worked as a civilian contractor at Kelly Airforce Base until its closing. After the closing of Kelly AFB, Joe transferred to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma where
he worked until his retirement. Joe was a Christian and faithful member of Gardendale Community Baptist Church where he served as a church trustee.

Joe is survived by his wife Barbara, his mother Annie Mae Campbell, mother-in-law Lillie Byrd, daughters; Nadine Leonard (Robert), Tylane Barnes (Joshua), Cynthia Wells (Allen), sons; Joe (Joey) E. Campbell, Jr. (Kathy) and Ervin Weatherspoon, sisters; Debbie Sance and Mary Ethel Campbell, grandchildren; Isaac, Tara, Quinten, NaTea, Brielin, Joshua, Cydni, Netanya (Lulu), Brianna, Raven, David, RaJon, Lily, Sarah and Joe (JJ), greatgrandchildren; Jakobe, Elias, Braxton and Todd Anthony, Uncle, Charles Walker (Gloria) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe is preceded in death by his father James Clayton Campbell Sr., brothers; James Clayton Campbell Jr (Tynnie Campbell) and Edward Campbell, and niece Dawn Sance.
