September 1, 1938 ~ October 12, 2008
John Henry Dinkens was born in Waycross, Georgia on Sept. 1, 1938 to Jesse and Ivenia Dinkens. He passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Oct. 12, 2008. John served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked in the automotive industry during his career. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Elida Dinkens; children, Dawn Lewis, Christopher M. Valot and wife Priscilla, Jonathan Dinkens; brother, Bobby Dinkens and wife Sonny; grandchildren, Tre Anthony Valot, Devin James Valot and special Angels, Michael, Savon, Anais, Trevor and Katelyn along with other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of ECTC Audie Murphy V.A. Hospital for their loving care. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
