Jose Nerio Sr.

Jose C. Nerio Sr. went to be with the lord Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 97. He was born August 11, 1924 in Elmendorf, TX. to Donicia and Concepcion Nerio. Jose was forced to mature at a young age after the passing of his father, with only a 4th grade education he went to work and was able to help his mother provide for his younger siblings. Jose meet the love of his life Rafaela while working at Fredrick’s A/C they got married on August 13, 1944 and had 8 children . Jose was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He loved working on cars, listening to music, dancing and seeing his family together. Jose also loved making people laugh and joking around, if you knew him he always had something funny to say. He was often seen outside enjoying the day and loved seeing the birds pay a visit. Jose was a good husband ,father and grandfather. The love for his family and craftiness is something that will always be remembered. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rafaela Nerio; daughter, Lydia Flores; son, Ralph Nerio; sister, Adela Mojica, brother, Ramon Nerio, 1 granddaughter and 2 great granddaughters. Jose is survived by his children, Jose Nerio, Jr., Yolanda Calderon, Mary Camacho, Alfred Nerio, Arthur Nerio, and Antonnette Rodriguez. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory 23 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, 47 great great grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Jose will be truly missed by all who knew him.
