Debbie, My heartfelt and sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mother. Growing up in the 70’s, we didn’t have a lot, most of us didn’t. We probably didn’t even realize it back then. I only have a handful of memories from grade school that stand out…field days, carnivals, square dancing in Mr. Mettke’s class and your mom. I always thought your mom was the “coolest homeroom mother” ever. Gift exchange was fun at Christmas but there was nothing like the “goodies” she would bring to the classroom, even more so, the crafty little ideas she had for presenting the goodies. I always looked forward to them and still cherish the memories. She was an inspiration for me to want to be “the cool homeroom mom” with my children. I’m sure she touched the lives of a lot of people knowingly and unknowingly. She certainly made an impression on me. May God comfort you and give you and your family strength and may your sweet mom rest in peace.
