juan leija

April 22, 1978 ~ September 9, 2022

Born in: San Antonio, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

We are heartbroken to announce our father Juan Leija Jr. passed away unexpectedly on September 09, 2022, at the age of 44 following a tragic accident.

Juan was born on April 22, 1978, in San Antonio and lived here his entire life. Because he was a big kid at heart his daughters, nieces, and nephews adored him along with the children of his close friends. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he loved them.

Juan’s antics were legendary and those who knew him have their own story to tell. He said what he meant and meant what he said iykyk. Juan had compassion, he fully enjoyed what he did and those he met in his days. He always made the time to show up for everyone who reached out, providing caring, trustworthy, and sound counsel. He simply wanted to brighten lives in his days and that he surely did. Peace and care permeated him, and kindness felt like it was his middle name.

Anyone who knew Juan knew that he was the most loving father, brother, friend, coach, and son a family could ask for. He shared this same love with his community of friends, coworkers, and acquaintances.

Juan was a person who loved sports and loved to coach. Juan was a SAYSAT Soccer coach, and a Windcrest Little League coach, who lead his team to victory in 2018 and 2019. He was a very big believer in pray before you play. While he wasn’t on the field coaching, he loved to play pool and cheer on his teams, the Dallas Cowboys, and the San Antonio Spurs. Juan was a YOLO type of guy, who loved to live in the moment and go with the flow. Not to mention that he absolutely loved to fish and danced to anything with a good beat. Juan was also a very, very proud UPS driver, his favorite saying was “What can brown do for you!”.

Juan was predeceased by his father, Juan Leija Sr., and his brother, Samuel Leija. He is survived by ex wife, Adelina Agosto, his three beautiful daughters, Amerika Leija, Annia Leija (Christian Cruz), and Azalia Leija. He leaves behind his mother, Anita Rodriguez Leija, his sisters, Norma Valdez (Joe Martinez), Leticia Martinez (Alfredo Martinez Sr.), and baby sister Monika Leija. His nieces and nephews, Amanda Preciado, Benny Rodriguez, Juan Valdez, Alfredo Martinez Jr., Jolynn Martinez, Tyara Leija, Chayzton Leija, Kingston Leija, and soon-to-be grandchild.

The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 pm, and Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at MeadowLawn Funeral Home, 5611 E Houston St. San Antonio, TX, 78220.
