It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katheryn “Kathy” Clarice Cannon Graves who left us peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on August 29, 1939, Kathy was a woman whose presence in the world will be dearly missed.
Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents Ada and Ernest Cannon, son Terry Scott “Scotty” Graves, sisters Cynthia Ricketts and Sandra Cannon, brothers Terry Scott Cannon, Sonny Cannon, and Clarence Cannon. She is survived by her son, Christopher Ricketts and niece Bela Tucker, and longtime friends Marsha Allbrooks and Margie Calleroz.
In her life, Kathy traveled the world and had a great love for many things, from her lifelong loyalty to the San Antonio Spurs, traveling with friends to Las Vegas, to her deep affection for her beloved dogs. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching her favorite television shows, Thursday trips to the movies with Marcia, or spending quiet moments with her furry companions and everything in between.
Those who knew Kathy well understood that her direct honesty was a sign of her love for them because Kathy did love others with her whole heart. She gave freely of herself when she could and was always ready with advice, a laugh, or a kind word when it was needed most.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love, sincerity, and the unforgettable mark of a life well lived. She is survived by many other friends and family who will continue to honor her memory with the same boldness and devotion she lived by
I love you and I miss you so terribly.
Aunt Kathy was the greatest, I had so much fun growing up with her. I will cherish all the memories I had with her. She will be deeply missed by each and every one of us. I’m glad I was able to talk to her a few times before she left us. I love you Aunt Kathy
