Katie E. Ball entered eternal rest March 1, 2024. She was born February 15, 1932 to Robert and Leola Kyles near Hallettsville, Texas. Katie worked for many years at Kelly Air Force Base. She was a member of Bethel AME and loved to volunteer her time participating in church activities. Katie was blessed with a beautiful voice and used her gift of singing to praise the Lord with her church choir.

Katie also loved the outdoors. Her favorite pastime was fishing. Katie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin C. Ball; children, Kathie Williams McAfee, Randall McAfee and her granddaughter, Tiffany Freeman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daina Bennett and her husband, Fred, Melada Clayton and her husband, Marvin, and Ramon McAfee; sister, Noella Burditte; grandchildren, Racheal Powell, Fred Bennett Jr., Chara Newbill, Reba Bennett, Katie Moorer, Dontè McAfee, Johan Williams and Katrina Flournoy; great-grandchildren, Andre McAfee, Fred Bennett III, Caley Bennett, Taylor Joyner, Payton Joyner, Leni Howze, Lenard Howze, Taeja Williams, Elijah Lacy, Jadae Freeman, Tahyrah George and Micha George; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
