Ed, you were so forthright, strong-minded, and always had a smile for me…thank you for your kindness, and being an inspiration, I have now seen someone endure til the end, and very well at that.
Aloha Ed, Although we knew each other for just a short while; mahalo for being a wonderful SUXO and great person. Have a wonderful journey, you are will be remebered. A hui hou…aloha!
Ed, one of the best. A man of his word, a good friend, a great EOD tech. Lorena, Jeanne, and I will always hold Ed in our hearts. I know Ed is riding a horse looking for some demolition work to do.
Hey Ed, only got to know you for a short while, but it seems that I’ve known you longer, always had a smile even on those bad days of yours, always polite, joker at times but a good man! Miss you Ed…
We will miss you forever Ed. You were like a second father to me. You taught me most of what I know about fixing and breaking stuff. If not for you I would not have the family I do today. I hope the scuba diving up there is up to par. Rest in peace Ed, you definitely earned it.
None of you know how very much it means to Me to see your words to Him. God, we All Loved him so very very much. It was so sad that no one got to see his very Honoring laying-to-rest. But now I feel that you all were with us that day, and we were all thinking of Him. Now we will just Forever be Missing Him, together…. There’s one song that I heard after we lost him that just pretty much says it all… and that is The Crystal Ship, by, of course, The Doors. My number is 210-639-3943. If any of you want to talk about him ever, please call or email. KewlNissen@sbcglobal.net. Maybe pass this site around to anyone who might want to say a few things about Ed. :)
My Dad was the best person anyone could ask to work with, play sports with, fix something with, ask questions, or even just chill out and joke around with. We were all blessed to have been a part of his life. I have never met someone so determined to not only make it, but make it fun, and do it right. I love you Dad! I miss you so much!!!! Thank you all for your thoughts and words, it is a great comfort to all of us that there are others out there who miss him, too.
You will be Sorely Missed, Good Friend, from these Islands and from our Hearts we send to you our warmest Aloha on your journey and our deepest Sympathy to those you Loved.
For most of my life growing up, he told me a few simple things that translated in huge ways. “Don’t sweat the small stuff” simple enough right? The full quote he used is “Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff” This translates to “if you worry about what’s already done, you’ll never be able to move on with your life”. “Don’t tell me what ya’ can or can’t do, just do it!” this was my dad’s faith in me in one line. He believed in me to such an extent that even when my own confidence failed his seemed infinite. “Suck it up, be tough, take it like a man” didn’t matter what it was if I was in pain and crying this is how he replied. It sounds cold but it’s good advice. A hard way to deal with pain is to grin and bear it, but this is what he was trying to convey. I never did fully understand him or the things he did for me. Not until he was already gone… Thanks dad… I love you, goodbye…
Eddie, lol, I am the only one who could call you that. As children we got ourselves into trouble, as young adolescence we cruised Magnolia, as young -adults I supported dad’s racing jeep and you were the co-driver. As adults the connection between us was so strong, but unseen, like fishing line. You were always one of my best friends, always seemed to know when I needed your support. I miss you terribly Eddie and I love you. RIP my friend.
