Lamar Magee, age 60, of San Antonio, loving and caring husband passed away Friday, July 1, 2005. Lamar was born June 23, 1945 in Alexandria, LA to parents, W.E. Magee, Jr. and Margaret Walters Magee. He attended Northeast Louisiana State College earning his BA in 1967 and then joined the U.S. Navy. After proudly serving his country, Lamar enjoyed his career as a Social Worker for the Public Welfare Department of San Antonio and most recently was employed by Block Distributing. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Bruce Magee; brother, Jarlon Magee and wife, Joanie; sister, Lillie Favaron and husband, Paul; and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, July 5th at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, TX with the Rev. Joe Walts officiating. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Dr. Lon Smith and his entire staff. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Therapy Research Center (CTRC), 7979 Wurzbach Rd., Suite U600, San Antonio, TX 78229.   4. I worked with Lamar for many years at Utex. I just heard about him today. I considered him a friend and not just a co-worker. He will be missed. Not only by me, but by alot of former Utex people.

  6. Joan, I didn’t get to know you well but it was evident how much you loved my cousin Lamar. He was special and will be missed and remembered by many. I remember going to visit Jarlon, Lamar & Marlene on week-ends and sitting on their big front porch. We always had so much fun. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
