July 29, 1941 ~ March 29, 2016
On March 29, 2016, our Beloved uncle, Leon Clay, was called home to eternal rest, by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In his heyday, Uncle Lee loved to shoot pool. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, often taking them to the corner store to buy every kind of candy, cookies and chips available. He was an avid Spurs fan and took pleasure in catching every game during basketball season. Uncle Lee spent his remaining years sitting in the driveway, sipping on Big Red while enjoying the sunshine. During his years of employment, he worked for Sweeney Bakery and Cherry Street Poultry.
He is preceded in death by his father, Saddie Clay; mother, Almeda Clay; brothers, Arthur Clay Sr. and Marvin Clay Sr; nephews, Alvoid Clay and David Clay.
He is survived by his son, Leon Clay, Jr.;brothers, Olia Clay Sr. and Raymond Clay Sr; nieces, Evelyn Clay Edmondson, whom assumed responsibility and cared for all his needs until his very last day. He also leaves to mourn Patricia Ann Adams; nephews, Olia Clay Jr., Marvin Clay Jr., Raymond Clay Jr., Arthur Clay Jr., Michael Clay and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
Guestbook
Oh by the way Leon Clay was a senior and has a son that\’s living named Leon Clay Jr.May you rest in paradise Dad.Much love!
Oh?! Are you referring to the same “dad” to whom you cowardly delivered the bold statement, “I ain’t got shit to say to that mutha fucka!” Is that the same “dad” whom you wish to, “rest in paradise” and send, “much love” to? If so, please allow me to brazenly deliver this message to you. You can keep your counterfeit “love” and “RIP.” His family that loved/s him unconditionally was/is well aware that he’s a “Sr.” You, in no uncertain terms, made it clear that you were NOT proud to be a “Jr.” Therefore, your lack of recognition during the celebratory homegoing of our beloved Uncle Lee, was solely brought to pass due to your own lack of humility. In layman’s terms, it was you, not us. Happy Anniversary, Uncle Lee. Your kind heart, warm smile and sharp tongue are missed everyday. We love you so very much!
