Leticia Alberto Santiago, 85, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Longmeadow, MA, died peacefully on November 14, 2016. Born April 29, 1931 in City of Lucena, Philippines, she is predeceased by her parents, Felix and Osita (Palad) Alberto, and brother Ted Alberto.
Letty graduated with a BS in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines and attended post graduate studies at Fordham University in NY. She was a devoted wife, mother and loving homemaker. She enjoyed watching friends and family take pleasure in each other's company through the meals she prepared for everyone. Over the years, she created and amassed a collection of recipes for all her friends and family to enjoy during gatherings. Letty had a great sense of humor and the great talent of telling amusing jokes and stories with a smile and laugh infectious to all.
She is survived by her beloved husband of over 59 years, Dr. Manuel Santiago Jr., and their sons and daughters-in-law, LouSantiago and his wife Stacy, of Longmeadow, MA; Manuel Santiago III and his wife Carolyn, of Longmeadow, MA; Joseph Santiago and his former wife Linda Mallari, of Los Angeles, CA; Antonio Santiago and his wife Gina, of Longmeadow, MA; Edward Santiago, of Holyoke, MA; Robert Santiago and his wife Lourdes, of Riverdale, NJ; 14 loving grandchildren Maura, James, Patty, Timothy, Amelia, Elizabeth, Valentina, Joseph, Alexandra, Carly, Gabriella, Mia, Ava, and Antonio II;sisters and brothers-in-law Alicia Bond and partner AntonioAlderete, of San Antonio, TX; Nora Bella and husband Alberto, of Toronto, Canada; Dulce de Leon and husband Gerry, of St.Paul, MN and Philippines; Mila Diaz and husband Andy, of Binan, Philippines; Maritza Alberto, of Pasig, Philippines; and brother Jojo Alberto and wife Barb, of Philadelphia, PA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, families and friends here and abroad all of whom will miss her dearly.
