Lewis E. Wheeler

Retired Lt. Col. Lewis Edgar Wheeler, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas passed away March 24, 2012 at the age of 89.
Lewis was born in Waldo, Texas on September 17, 1922 and received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University. He was married to Josephine Dandrea of New Jersey on April 17, 1944.
Lewis served in the U.S. Navy on the Lexington during WWII. After six years of service, he left the Navy and joined the U.S. Air Force serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Lewis retired twenty fours years later in San Antonio, Texas.
His wife, Josephine, passed away November 6, 2006. He is survived by his aunt, Natalie Wheeler; his sister, Arnell W. Denton; his son, Robert Lewis Wheeler and his daughter, Sandra Denise Wheeler.
