Lois Dorn Domingue

Lois Marie(Dorn)Domingue was born on May 5, 1941 to the parents of George and Lorado(Jackson)Dorn in San Antonio, TX. She attended public schools and upon completion of Phillis Wheatley High School she attended St. Phillips College. After two years she transferred to Texas Southern University where she joined the Delta Sigma Theta sorority and obtained a bachelors degree in science with a major of biology. Lois also received a certificate in language from Tuskegee University which helped her to begin her over 30 year-long career in education. She worked for over 20 years at Edgewood Independent School District in San Antonio, TX where she genuinely enjoyed teaching high school students until her retirement in 2003. On January 19, 1968, Lois joined in holy matrimony with the love of her life Claude Domingue in San Antonio, TX and was a devoted wife for over 44 years. Through this union she and her husband bore a daughter in 1981, Andrea Domingue, and was a proud, loving and caring mother to her only child. Outside of teaching Lois had enjoyed spending her spare time with her family, traveling, had a talent for sewing, and served as a Girl Scout troop leader for several years. Lois spent her last years as at Parklane West assisted living facility where her she enjoyed the company of her husband Claude, numerous social activities and monthly communion visits from Reverend Ronald Wells and his wife on behalf of Antioch Baptist Church. Lois passed away on July 8, 2012. Mourning her departure yet cherishing the beautiful memories of her love and devotion are: her daughter Andrea D. Domingue of Northampton, MA; two sisters Doris Mitchell and Thelma Ross of San Antonio, TX; two brother-in laws, Willie J. (Elvera) Domingue of Eunice, LA and Ronnie J. Domingue of Rayne, LA, and one sister-in-law Dorothy J. Domingue of Rayne, LA;. She leaves in God abiding grace a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Claude Domingue, parents George and Lorado(Jackson)Dorn, parents-in-law Forrest Domingue and Mable (Price) Domingue, and siblings Patricia Dorn Lewis and Bobbie (Donald) Johnson, brother-in-law Carroll Domingue.
