Louella Coleman was born November 04, 1937 to Beatrice Griffin Hall and Jack Hall. Louella was born in Chenango, Texas, where she grew up, attended school and gave her life to Christ. As an adult she relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas.
It was in Corpus Christi that she made a career as a housekeeper, a home health aide, and a community activist. She worked hard. Being a community activist allowed her to have a hand in getting some projects approved with the Corpus Christi Housing Authority.
Louella had five children, Alice, Mary, Jessie Mae, Willie Mae, and Henry, they in turn blessed her with 12 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Louella was a hard worker with a feisty spirit. She was a straight shooter. She was known for letting you know what was and was not going to be. You could often find her playing bingo or going to the Corpus Christi dog races. She also loved to fish. While in the long-term care facility the nurses loved coming to her room not just to treat her but to hear what she had to say.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter, Jessie Mae Thomas, and grandchildren James L. Thomas and Marcos Thomas. Her memory will be cherished by her children, Alice Thomas, Mary Davis, Willie Mae Joyce, and Henry Thomas; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and along with other family and friends.
