Malinda Findley, age 81, passed away December 18, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Luling, Texas, August 5, 1938 to David and Birdie Whitley. She was a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School (San Antonio) and later attended St. Philips Collage (San Antonio) where she earned her nursing degree. She met her husband, Charles, in San Antonio where they married and have enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. She also involved a lot of her time as a deaconess at Whole Life Christian Church (Converse, Texas). Malinda loved arts and crafts. She would make a range of items including shoes, pillows, afghans, bracelets, and gift baskets. Christmas was the time she would, “come alive,” and enjoyed the season very much. She especially enjoyed the family dinners and gatherings. Malinda is preceded in death by her parents, David and Birdie Whitley; daughter, Joy Yvette Martin; brother and sisters; Ernestine Walters, Erlene Lee, David F. Whitley. She is survived by her loving husband; Charles Findley; children, Patrick Findley, Saldivar Findley, Marcos Findley, Belinda Ferrell (Johnny), and Sandra Scott; grandchildren, Karla, Mark, Jazmin, Terresa, Tianna, Patrice, Larenz, Cheyenne, DaNiya, Ajani and Aundrea; great grandchildren, Sedona, Lamarcus, August, Brian Jr., Alazayi, Mario Jr., Eliza. Malinda was a wonderful soul and touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed by many.
