Margaret Ann Briller was born Margaret A. Greenwood on August 11, 1945, to the parents of Lonnie B. Jones and Hortense J. Greenwood (both preceded in death) in Texas City, TX. On the evening of January 19, 2023, at her home in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Margaret departed this earth to be with her Heavenly Father.
Margaret attended Dunbar High School and graduated on May 17, 1964, with honors. At a young age, she realized her passion to serve and care for others. She completed nursing school at St. Philip’s College, San Antonio TX, on December 23, 1978. Margaret worked 32 years, in various departments as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Bexar County Hospital (renamed Medical Center Hospital and currently named University Hospital) in San Antonio, TX. Even after retirement, she continued serving and caring for her grandchildren and sharing her medical knowledge with her children, family, and friends.
Margaret accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of New Light Baptist Church and later joined Damascus Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as the youth leader. She later moved her membership to New Dimensions Ministries where she also served faithfully until her health started to decline. She loved spending time with family and friends (especially her grandkids), watching movies (scary movies were her favorite), reading (Stephen King books), playing cards (especially Spades), playing dominos, and completing crossword puzzles.
Margaret met and married the love of her life, Godfrey J. Briller, Jr. (preceded in death) on March 3, 1967, and with him she had four children. She is survived by her five children: Cynthia B. Roberts (Manuel), Godfrey J. Briller, III (Brandi), William C. Briller (Cathy), Dr. Enitra D. Briller, and Darren D. Briller (Veronica). I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on me, shall never die (John 11: 25-26).

You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. There is a quote that says. ” the song has ended but the Melody lingers on.” I thank God for having met Margaret. We shared great conversations, laughter, advice, and memories. She always wore a beautiful smile. Margaret, thank you for the Melody.
It was a pleasure knowing her. She was delightful, knowledgeable, with a contagious laugh. We will miss her.
Wish we could be there with you, all our love. Keep the faith Anthony and Mary Wilkerson.
Mrs Margaret you will be missed, you were one amazing lady thank you for always making me feel welcomed
To the Family, Margaret Ann was the most interesting person to be around. As children, and knowing any better we obeyed everything she told us to do. I’ll always remember the day she pierced all the girls ears. We told her it hurt and her response to us was “girls have to suffer to look cute”. Her favorite passtime was telling ghost stories. To this day, I enjoy telling ghost stories. She was the best Aunt because she was like a big sister and best friend. Those days at the home of William Price was Terrific.

May your mom Rest In Peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
Margaret: I keep looking at your picture and realize that I will no longer talk to you. I am so sad. I really have love for you and I will always remember you for being my sister with giving wise counsel, with God focused. I now think and pray for family and friends you left behind and God be with them.
When you lose someone you love you gain an angel. May God embrace your broken hearts and give you the comfort and strength you and your family need at this most difficult time.
To Cindy and the Family My Sincerest Sympathies are extended to You all.
Ms Margaret, the Matriarch, rest in the bosum of God’s Glory.
