Margaret V. Bernal (Margie) was born on June 24, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas and entered the Lord's Kingdom on February 25, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 62. She was born to Robert and Delma Veech. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend to all. She attended St. Mary's University and received her degree in social work/counseling. She worked as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor in San Diego, Texas. She was always willing to put others before herself, and never lost hope in all that she did. Throughout her two year battle with gallbladder cancer. she was a fighter. She always kept her faith in God, even through the toughest of times. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends, and there was never a moment that went by that she wasn't making someone laugh or smile. She is survived by her husband Carl Bernal and her 3 children: Donald & Brooke Lingerfelt Jr. (La Vernia, Texas), Christina & Thomas Cox (Poteet, Texas), & George & Kathy Richel (Converse, Texas). She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren. She will be missed dearly and will always be remembered for her smile, laughter, kindness, personality, and her love of God.

It was such a blessing having Margie as a part of our family here at First Baptist Church in Castroville. She was a beautiful part of of our lives and will indeed be missed until we meet again in heaven.
