Maria De Jesus Segovia, age 63, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Southeast Baptist Hospital. Maria was born on May 8, 1943 in Edinburg, Texas to Salvador Perez and Rita Huerta Perez. Mrs. Segovia worked at the San Antonio Express News as a manager for a number of years. She is survived by her husband, Alejandro Segovia; children, Nancy Segovia, Cindy Barajas, and David Barajas; granddaughter, Emily Gonzalez; mother, Rita Perez; sisters, Linda Martinez, Odilia Luera, and Irene Lopez; brother, Mack Perez. Mrs. Segovia was preceded in death by her father, Salvador Perez and by two brothers, Julio Perez and John Perez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Meadowlawn Tribute Center. The funeral service will follow at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Meadowlawn Tribute Center with Pastor Tony Reyes officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

It is unfortunate that we have lost such a joyful, caring, and kind woman, however, it is of some comfort that we have learned much from her in the time we were blessed to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with Maria’s family at this great time of sorrow.
