Maria was a true country girl residing in Stockdale for many years with her first husband Edward and their children. She loved country music and a covered porch was her favorite dance floor. Maria loved to sit and watch the sunrise over fields of wildflowers with a cup of coffee in her hand. Maria also loved family trips down to the Texas coast and would go many times each summer. Although she liked to travel, her favorite trip each year was to Calaveras Lake for the annual family Easter celebration. She enjoyed spending that time frying catfish and playing washers with her family. She was especially known for the eccentric Halloween costumes she made each year for trick for treating with her grandkids.
Maria was an employee at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital for many years and felt that her coworkers were more like family. She was a patient teacher and, although small, she could run circles around everyone. She was a very hard worker and loved her job as a PCA.
Maria was very dedicated to her family. She had a giving heart and loved to take care of others. She was a shining of example of selfless love and will be missed by so many.
