Marie Terese Black went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 15, 2002 at the age of 66. She was called home a day before her 67 birthday. Marie was born in Detroit, MI November 16, 1955, to the late Theresa Doffeny Black and Charles James Black. She was a loving, kind, and wise woman. Marie was the matriarch of her family who always had a kind and encouraging word to share. She was always optimistic about life and encouraged her family to persevere through anything that stood before them. She cared for and raised her grandsons after her daughter’s passing; no matter how far away they resided, she always found a way to provide. Marie enjoyed watching movies and finding the best deals. Her family will miss her strength, ingenuity, and wisdom gained from a lifetime of adventure. For many years Marie was employed with the San Antonio County Clerk’s Office.
Marie is preceded in death by her daughter, Cleo Cooper-Love; grandson, John Burton; and her brother, Robert McVea.
Marie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tomorrow N. Kosal; her grandchildren- De’Ardre Pearson, Brian Pearson, Dimon Ingram, Daisha Kosal, Dezira Kosal, Dyani Kosal, Deven Kosal, D’Lijah Kosal and Damari Kosal; siblings- Michael Black, Jacquelyn Carroll, Darrell McVea, Rene McVea, Denise McVea, Jacqueline McVea and John McVea; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
