Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Mark Francis Walker passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, January 14 of 2022. He is survived by his best friend, Lisa Carnazzo; three children- Alden Walker, Lorenza Walker, and Brycen Walker; and a brother Eric Walker of Cottage Grove, MN. He was the son of Robert M. Walker and Alice A. Walker (both deceased).

He was born in May 1964 in Schenectady, NY. He spent his childhood in

Duanesburg, NY and St. Louis, MO. He moved to Texas in 1979 and was a 1981 graduate of Carthage High School in Carthage, Texas. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1985. From 1985 until 1993 he served as a U.S. Navy Officer, serving on the USS Forrestal and USS Missouri. He was a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He earned three Navy Commendation Medals during his distinguished career.

Walker worked in Corporate Communications for Southwestern Bell, SBC; AT&T from 1996 to 2006. For the Last 10+ years he served as a corporate marketing consultant.

His greatest joy was always derived from spending time with his kids, playing chess with them, doing silly magic tricks for them, taking hikes, and testing them on trivia. He loved the Beatles and enjoyed playing guitar, and playing practical jokes. He could get lost for days in thrift stores, bookstores, and antique shops. At one point his collection of books exceeded 1,000 before he reluctantly liquidated many of them. He was a proud Grammar Geek and Word Nerd.

He found true love at age 50, and was devoted to his soulmate, Lisa Carnazzo. He was also a compassionate Christian who could never drive by a homeless person without giving a donation, or pass by a child without giving them a smile and high five.

He will be cremated with his ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
