MSgt. Marquis Dwight Hightower (“Q”), USAF Retired, age 73 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Born on August 6, 1952, in Perry, Florida. Marquis was predeceased by Willie Hightower Sr., (father), Gladyse L. Hightower (mother), Terry Hightower (Chris) (brother) and Michael Hightower (brother). He dedicated 30 years of Civil Service and 30 honorable years of service to the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During his distinguished military career, he served proudly as a Military Police Officer with Security Forces, demonstrating unwavering commitment, discipline, and integrity in service to his country.
Marquis also valued education and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science and Associate Degree in Data Processing. While he achieved many accomplishments throughout his life, his greatest joy came from his family.
Affectionately known as “Q” and “Popo”, a name he wore with pride and love, Marquis cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took great pleasure in helping raise his grandchildren and creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
Marquis and his devoted wife shared a passion for traveling together. Their adventures took them to many beautiful places, including Jamaica, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Louisiana and Virginia — just a few of their favorite destinations. No visit to Marquis’s home was complete without finding one of his favorite western movies playing on the television, and football something family and friends fondly remember and will deeply miss.
Marquis will be remembered for his strength, devotion to family, sense of humor, and the love he freely shared with others. His legacy of service, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will forever be treasured by his wife of 30 years Linda C.
