Martha Ann Arturo

martha arturo

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Martha Ann Arturo Lalor announce her passing on May 12th, 2023 at the age of 101 years.

Martha was predeceased by her loving parents, David, and Cipriana Lalor, her brother David, sister Adelina, and ex-husband Francisco Arturo.

Martha was known by her infectious smile, and her kindness to everyone she met in her life. She made many friends at home and abroad. Martha was born in Omoa, Puerto Cortes, Honduras on April 13, 1922.

She dedicated her life to God, and family and gave unconditional love to all. Martha had many interests and hobbies, such as sewing, gardening, knitting, patch work. She had a great love and wonder for nature. Martha had a great interest in pursuing a nursing career. Oh, what a wonderful and caring nurse she would have been! In the mid 1960’s Martha immigrated from Honduras to the United States where an opportunity presented itself for a job with the Hondurian Ambassador in Washington, D.C. Her tenure lasted over four years. Martha excelled at her job, made many lasting friendships and gained the admiration of colleagues for her work ethics and lovely calm personality. In the early eighties Martha travelled abroad with her eldest daughter Naomi and her children and spent many years in different European countries. Martha often reminisced about her travels with fond memories. She returned to the United States years later, and settled in Maryland and San Antonio, Texas with her daughters, and grandchildren.

Martha leaves behind her loving children, Naomi, Hetty, Genoveva, Myrna and Roy. Her grandchildren, Derek, Giovanni, Martha, Valerie, Karen, Ronald, Jennifer, Sonia, Jason, M.Amalia, Alejandra, and many great grandchildren, loving son in law Clement Valentine, daughter in law Sonia Arturo Franco. We will cherish her memory, and miss her dearly. Gone to be with the Lord. Rest gently beautiful Mama.
