Poteet, Texas
Martha O. Salas went to be with the Lord January 5, 2023. She was born February 27, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to Filiberto and Margarita Tappia. Martha started a family and married Redolfo Salas. She was dedicated to her family making sure they never went without. Along with her husband, she instilled the love of God unto her children. Redolfo became a preacher and they started a church together, Templo Calvario, in Lemming, TX. They both loved singing and praising the Lord. Redolfo called his wife, Martha, his “Paloma” and loved her dearly until his passing. Martha also enjoyed cooking for her family. She was famous for her enchiladas and wouldn’t hesitate to make them when her children and grandchildren asked her to. Martha took great care of her home and you would often find her redecorating, moving furniture around and painting the walls in it. She took great pride in being a homemaker and caring for everyone, but she would also make sure to take care of herself, getting her hair permed and dressing up. Martha will be dearly missed by all but it gives us some comfort knowing that she has reunited with her husband in Heaven.
Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Redolfo C. Salas; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, JoAnn Salas Johnson, Avel O. Salas, Phil Henry O. Salas, Jeffrey Patrick O. Salas, Tabitha Lynn O. Salas and Margarita F. Olivarez Palomo; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; cousin, Yolanda Salinas; numerous extended family and friends.

Thank you for the beautiful words…. She will be missed
Mom you are most definitely one of a kind. I feel like you were the best mom that you knew how to be. You taught me how to be independent and have a thick skin. I wouldn’t be the person that I am today if it wasn’t for you and dad. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you and say Hi to dad for me
