Mary Stella King, 72, was born December 8, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas to loving parents Arthur Lee Brown and Henrietta (Clark) Brown. She was one of five children from this union. Mary departed this life August 2, 2022 to be with the Lord. Mary was known for her love of her family. She was a devoted follower of the Lord starting at a young age. She accepted Christ at East End Church of God and Christ, under Rev. C.D. Hammond. She attended Wheatley High School. She completed nurse aide training and later did home health care. Mary later married Arthur King on May 8, 1976. To this union, two children were born, Quincy and LaTanga. She then joined Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Karnes City, Texas under Rev. Jerry Bryant. At Prospect Missionary Baptist Church she served as Birthday Committee Chairman. She also sang in the Choir. She cherished her family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Arthur and Henrietta Brown, three brothers Arthur “Bobby” Brown Jr., Samuel Brown and William “Nuggie” Brown; cousins Ricky Corothers; nephew Eddie Hill Jr. and great niece Rogernique Adams

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 46 years Arthur King, as well as daughter LaTanga (Rashod) and son Quincy (Jennifer). She also leaves behind grandchildren Khalil, Jada, and Malik, sister Gladys Adams, aunts Mary Sparks and Odie Townsend (Weimar, TX); uncle Alvin Sparks; sisters-in-law Carolyn Brown, Carolyn Hawkins, Shirley Hawkins, Lena King, Brothers-in-law Eddie King and Edward Hawkins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Mary leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten. She will be missed dearly by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
