Michael M. King

Michael Maurice King was born May 30, 1981 in San Antonio, Texas to Charles Edwards, Sr. and Sharon Rena King. He grew up in a home filled with love.  Michael attended school in the Southwest Independent School District, graduating from Southwest High School in 2000. While in school he played the sport he loved, basketball.

Shortly after high school he met Janet Bernal and became the father of her children, Rayann and Jayven. He knew he had to support his family so he became a hard worker always working to provide a comfortable life for the family. His last job was with Home Depot and since he never met a stranger, he quickly made friends with his co-workers, always being a bright spot on the job.  Michael loved the beach and as often as he could he would make a way to get there.  He was also passionate about basketball, music, video games and just driving around, cruising. He loved his grandchildren most of all, teasing and playing with them, making memories. Michael will be remembered by his family as forever happy and trying to ensure that everyone around him was happy too.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon R. King; grandmother, Cora King and his sister, Ava L. King.

Michael’s fun loving happy spirit will be remembered by his father, Charles Edwards, Sr.; wife, Janet Bernal King; children, Rayann Bernal and Jayven Wechsler; brother, Charles Edwards, Jr.; grandchildren, Naiyomi King, Deville King-Wechsler, Nairobi Wechsler and Jiraiya Miller; nephew Drevonta Jay King  along with a host of other family members and friends.
