Michael O’Neil was born August 20, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas, he quietly passed away on July 29, 2024. Hours before his passing he spoke with his nephew, Darwin O’Neil about his upcoming birthday.
Michael attended the public schools in San Antonio graduating from Phillis Wheatley High School. While in high school he kept a part-time job with Sears. Following graduation, he and some friends applied for a job with CPS Energy and was hired and he stayed there until retirement. He met his wife, Eva and they had two beautiful children, Alise and Rovena. Besides being a good husband and father, Michael like to hang out with family and friends, he loved music, especially jazz and country. He was always a sharp dresser and he loved his western wear. Everything had to be just right before he stepped out. He was an easy going guy, but he meant what he said.
Michael was proceeded in death by his mother, Mildred Bess O’Neil Smith; wife, Eva O’Neil; daughter, Alise O’Neil; siblings, Dr. Clay O’Neil, Richard “Terry” O’Neil, Wayne O’Neil, Barbara Brown and nephew, Michael Lavar O’Neil.
He leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Rovena O’Neil; siblings, Carol O’Neil Mayberry (his twin), Laverne O’Neil and Marvin O’Neil along with two grandchildren, a special nephew Darwin O’Neil, nieces and other nephews and lifelong friend Darwin L. Johnson along with other family members and friends.
