Michael was a life-long learner with a keen inquisitive mind; He was a philosopher as well as a poet at heart. Michael served our country first in the Marine Corps and later in Reserves for a total of 6 years. He would eventually retire and live along the Llano River—- a place for him of immense delight. A research geophysicist, he lived an expat’s life, having children born in several countries as well as extensive traveling for both pleasure and business. Michael was very active in every church community he called home whether in England, Singapore, or Texas. Michael was a lover of music from Beethoven to Buena Vista Social Club and everything in between. A dancer at heart and in many situations, his children love to remember when he took Scottish Dancing lessons.

Michael is preceded in death by both parents, as well as his brother Harvey and sisters Jeanne and Fleur. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of over fifty years Mia, daughters Alexia Zorrilla (Miguel), Jacqueline Boriack (Stephen), Michaela Rouse (Jeff), son Joshua (Marcela), as well as grandchildren Gabriel, Tenzin, Aidan, Ethan, Logan, Tucker, Penelope, Eleanor, Cristian, and Isabela. He also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews. He adored and was loved dearly by Bear, Blue, Lacey, Bat, Sheba, Brindle, Rupert, Crash, Herbie and Harlequin along with feral, feline 4-legged friends in Llano.

Michael will always be remembered for his gentlemanly spirit, devotion to those he loved, as well as enveloping bear hugs. He leaves behind a life and legacy that will not soon be forgotten. Michael will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
