Born in: Taylor, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Mother Ella Mae Hilliard, a devoted woman of faith, loving matriarch, and cherished member of her community, entered eternal rest on March 22, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 29, 1925, in Taylor, Texas, to the late Shelly and Ethel Scott.

Mother Hilliard was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Frazier Hilliard, with whom she shared over 50 years of love, faith, and devotion. Together, they dedicated their lives to serving God and His people. While her husband faithfully served as a minister in Seguin, Texas, Mother Hilliard embraced her calling as the “First Lady of the Church,” nurturing, guiding, and uplifting countless members of the congregation. Her love for her church family was unwavering, and her presence was a source of comfort, wisdom, and strength.

Known for her warm and generous spirit, Mother Hilliard found great joy in cooking and feeding others. Her home was always open, filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals, laughter, and fellowship. She had a deep love for good old-fashioned gospel music, which brought her peace and joy throughout her life.
Mother Hilliard also had a vibrant sense of style. A true fashionista, she loved to shop and took great pride in her appearance, always presenting herself with grace, elegance, and dignity.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her loving children: daughters, Pamela Carroll and Shirley Powell; son, Herbert Michael Wilson; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frazier Hilliard; her daughter, Karen Linette Marshall; and her son, Elvia Wilson III.

Mother Ella Mae Hilliard’s legacy of faith, love, hospitality, and devotion will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
