Nicole "Nickie" A. Robinson

January 15, 1970 ~ November 6, 2023

Born in: San Antonio, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Nicole “Nickie” A. Robinson was born 15 January 1970 in San Antonio, Tx to Milton and Anita Robinson at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age.

Nickie suffered from heart defects from birth to her transition to her heavenly home on November 6, 2023. However, nothing stopped her from enjoying her childhood as if there was never a complication. At age 5, she was a cheerleader (top of pyramid) for the Lackland Eagles football team. She was also their Homecoming queen.

Nickie’s most active years were spent in California when her military family transferred to Travis AB. There, she participated in parades with her school, gymnastics, the base youth swim team, (the only black member and multi-medalist) Girl Scouts, and she pitched a no-hitter with her fast pitch softball team, dad coaching.

On returning from that tour back to San Antonio, Nickie was a junior at a new school, Taft High School. Always tumbling, she won “Best in Show” for her interpretation of Janet Jackson’s, “Control” video at the school’s first talent show. Nickie somersaulted from the left side of the stage to the right side, landing squarely on her feet ending her routine and bringing the house down.

After graduation, Nickie gave birth to Courtney, followed by Jerrod and Tyler. She faced the hardships and challenges of being a single parent, but with her faith in God plus love and support from a close family, she endured.

Nickie was heavily involved with her son’s school and extracurricular activities. She was dance instructor for the cheerleaders of her son’s football team. For her efforts, she was awarded “Most Popular Team Mom” 3 consecutive years. Everybody loved her. Nicole was widely recognized as a “programming guru” in the local tech community. While it was never difficult to gain employment, her worsening health issues and subsequent hospitalizations prevented her from attaining long term employment and company benefits. COVID further weakened her immune system, and for her last 5 years, she worked from home as a licensed travel agent with limited benefits. Nickie was hospitalized in late March of this year, and remained in long term care and hospice watching Macedonia’s livestreams and videos of the kids until she passed very peacefully on November 6.

Her favorite gospel song was “That’s Love”. That’s who she was.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Milton and Anita, parents; 3 sons: Courtney Marquel (Talishya), Jerrod Mason, and Tyler Mitchell; 5 grandchildren: Kennedy Mc’Kiyah, Jerrod Mason Jr., Kameron Marquel, Konnor Myles, and Kaliyah Melody. All children and grands have middle names beginning with “M” in tribute to grandpa. Also missing her are many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
