Norman E. Smolka, Jr. went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2008 at the age of 42. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman E. Smolka, Sr. He is survived by his children, Cody, Derek and Dylan Smolka, all of San Antonio; mother, Dian Smolka, of San Antonio; sister, Norma Rawlings and husband, Kenneth, of Floresville; niece, Ashley Spier; nephew, Tristan Walters; great nephew, Landon Spier. In addition, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends survive Norman. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Dellcrest Funeral Home, 2023 S. WW White Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family.

  1. No one ever plans on hearing anything like this happening and never does know the right thing to say when it does. We know he is in a better place but it is never easy to realize that. No one deserves the pain that they are put through and we know there is nothing we can do or say to make anything better. My heart goes out to the family,Norman was a good friend of mine,me norman and mary use to hang out togeather at least 4 times a week 12 years ago,Then we all lost touch then i saw norman at a car show last year and was glad to interduce him to my parents and was also glad to see how his son had grown up.I will miss nroman so much he was a very caring person,GOD BLESS HIM.

  6. We met Norman and Julie about two years ago. They were so happy and Norman always so friendly and constantly busy doing something.Red will miss him dropping by to visit which usually happened three or four times a week.He are so sorry for your loss. Know that we are praying for you.
