Odessa Norwood

Odessa Norwood was born in Gonzales, Texas to Mandy and Mack Henry, on January 6, 1915. She attended schools in Gonzales. Odessa accepted Christ at an early age at Little Zion Baptist Church in Harwood, Texas. She was a loving and devoted Mother of 8. Odessa retired after 30 years at Baylor University in the housekeeping department. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vernice Henry, Plymouth Henry; sisters, Mary Henry, Lillie Kennon; children, L.V. Jackson, Eula Mae Davis and Ray Weddington. Later in life she met and married Rev. Norwood who also preceded her in death. She leaves to remember her life; sons, Aster Lee Green of Texas City, TX, Chester Green (Ruby) of San Antonio, TX, Franklin Jackson(Cheryl) and Elijah Green(Tamala) of Waco, TX, Bill Green of San Antonio, TX; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren; with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
