Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Olivia Maddox Williams, affectionately known as “Dolly” to her family and friends, peacefully gained her angel wings on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the age of 99, surrounded by her loving family.

Olivia was born on October 15, 1926, in La Grange, Texas, to the late Ora Grant Newton and Albert Newton. She was a proud graduate of La Grange High School.

A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Dolly was a devoted member of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she carried that faith with grace, strength, and love throughout her 99 years.

Dolly was a woman of many talents. She found great joy in gardening, sewing, cooking, and quilting, sharing the gifts of her hands and heart with everyone around her. Even at 98 years old, she was still quilting and cooking. Her famous peach cobbler was her signature dish—a special treat that was loved by everyone fortunate enough to taste it.

Dolly also loved to dance and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She especially loved fishing, embracing the simple pleasures of being outside and enjoying life’s beautiful moments.

Her greatest passion, however, was caring for children. For many years, Dolly lovingly cared for children through her work in childcare. She had a nurturing spirit and a special way of making children feel loved, safe, and cared for. She also worked at T.P. Steak House, where she was known for her hard work and dedication.

Dolly’s 99 years were filled with faith, family, love, laughter, hard work, and countless memories. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will continue through all who knew and loved her. Her loving spirit, warm heart, infectious smile, and the many gifts she shared with others will never be forgotten.

Though her hands may no longer quilt, her kitchen may be quiet, and her chair may sit empty, the love she poured into her family and community will live on forever.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Your work here is done. Your loving family surrounded you as you gained your angel wings, and now you are resting in the arms of the Lord. You will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clearence Williams; daughters, Dianne Lewis, Carol East, and Jearlene Lewis; grandsons, Ernest Williams, Cory Maddox; brother, Ernest Newton.

Dolly will be dearly missed by her children, Barbara Maddox, Kenneth Maddox, David Maddox, Cherly Ann Carter, Johnnie W. Lewis; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
