Oscar Mario Mauro, 76, passed away November 26, 2024. He was born July 10, 1948 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Jose and Irma Mauro. Oscar attended school in Argentina and worked for the government with the Comisión de Energía Atómica. In 1972, he met the love of his life, Adelina. They soon realized they had to be together forever and married in 1975. Oscar was very active and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to play soccer and to see his favorite team play, the River Plate Soccer Club. In 1988, Oscar and Adelina decided to move their family to the United States. The first thing Oscar did upon arriving, was to look for a soccer league he could join. Oscar kept playing until the age of 55. He had several jobs when he first arrived to the US. He worked in a couple of mechanic shops and in the oilfield off the Gulf of Mexico. He went on to own and operate his own mechanic shop until his son, Gustavo, continued in his footsteps. Rarely would you see Oscar sitting or indoors, you could count on him working in his garden, tending to his roses, playing soccer, or around the nearest pool of water. Oscar was loving husband, father and friend and will be dearly missed by all.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7
