July 30, 1943 ~ November 5, 2023

Born in: St. Paul , Minnesota
Resided in: Universal City , Texas

Perry Clyde Shipler passed from this world on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 80.

The Legend began in St. Paul, MN on July 30, 1943, but after the war his parents high tailed it to San Antonio. He may not be a native Texan, but he certainly exemplified Texas with his cowboy spirit. Perry spent his life working in various professions in the San Antonio area. He drove cattle trucks, worked in the office supply business, and finally fulfilled his dream of becoming a business owner by opening his office furniture store in downtown San Antonio. He loved to make deals and tell stories, but more importantly, he loved to spend time with family and friends and create the memories behind his unforgettable stories.

Perry was an avid visitor of Big Bend National Park where he knew the trails and back roads like the back of his hand. He was definitely an outdoorsman. Everyone experienced the outdoors with him through raising some sort of animal, hunting, or walking along railroad tracks looking for date nails. His adventures were legendary as he travelled through the Texas Hill Country and all over the world

Perry is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Shipler, mother, Geneva Shipler and many aunts and uncles on both sides. He is survived by the love of his life, Gloria; his admiring daughter, Sebryna, her husband Jason, and kids Barrett, Colt, and newest addition Odin; his step-sons Sean, Brent, and Robin and step-daughters Lori, Kay and Dawnne.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church 5520 S. Flores St. San Antonio, TX 78214.
