Born in:
San Antonio, Texas
Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Rebecca Ann Farias was born on April 3, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas to her loving parents, Mr. Juan Guevara and Mrs. Esther Palomo Guevara.
She grew up on Peggy Drive, where she lived her entire life, next door to her cousins and sisters. Being so close to family allowed for countless memories to be made and endless parties to be had, traditions that her daughters will proudly continue.
Rebecca was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, David, was her soulmate and the love of her life. Together, they built a magical and beautiful life. Thanks to David’s musical career, they were able to travel the world to such far off places like China, Switzerland, and his annual cruises to Mexico and Jamaica. She was even with him when David won his Grammy Award. But no matter where she went, she always ended up at her happy place Disney Land—the place she loved sharing most with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Above all, family was the most important thing in her life. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her door was always open, and her home was always filled with friends and family partaking in the wonderful meals she prepared with love.
Rebecca’s caring and maternal nature led her to a career in education. She received an associate degree in special education and worked as a Special Education paraprofessional with S.A.I.S.D and was a cherished staff member at Herman Hirsch Elementary School.
Rebecca was just as beautiful on the inside, as she was on the outside. She loved to dress up, and loved to shop for a bargain. She loved leopard print blouses and anything in sequin. And she lived by her motto: “Always be the better person.”
Rebecca Ann Farias, 61, passed away on March 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She will be dearly missed by all the people that loved her. She is preceded in death by her sister, Diana Guevara–Sanchez.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 42 years, David B. Farias; daughter Debra Farias–Jimenez and her husband, Albert; daughter Jennifer Farias, and daughter Jacqueline Farias; parents: Juan and Esther Guevara; grandchildren: Jayden Lopez, Amia Lopez, Alijah Jimenez, Amerie Jimenez, Nevaiah Jimenez and Nathan Jimenez; sister, Virginia Bustillos and husband, Jesse; and sister, Dolores De Hoyos and husband, Miguel; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
