reuben johnson, sr.
My Life's Journey I was born the oldest son to Mr. Richard Johnson and Miss Lucille Easter Johnson on August 20, 1922 in Ennis, Texas. During my lifetime I married Ozella Blocker and 5 children were born to this union; Richard, Reuben Lee, Jr., Llewellyn, Renea and Rita. I also have 3 other children; Alene, Ruby Sue and Reuben Lee, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ. I proudly served in the United States Army and was medically retired. I worked many years as a Barber and owned two Barber Shops one which was located on New Braunfels named "Reuben's" and the other located in "Flying J's Truck Stop named RJ's and I also practiced my trade at Randolph AFB. I was associated with and an active member of the Alzafar Shriners Auxiliary in San Antonio until I became ill. I loved life and my family with all my heart. I enjoyed gardening, tending my grapefruit trees and fishing. I liked eating black-eyed peas and cornbread so much that I received the name "Cornbread" and later my wife called me "Poppy". Though he is gone, he will not be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife of 62 years, Ozella; his children, Richard Earl (Cheryl), Reuben Lee, Jr.Pauline), Llewellyn(Sandra), Renea (Ronald) and Rita (Roy), Alene Tauscher, Ruby Sue Riley and Reuben Lee Johnson, Jr.; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends
