Our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Roberto A. Martinez, affectionately known as “Beto” and “Robert,” entered eternal rest on the 22nd day of March in San Antonio, Texas. He was 71 years of age at the time of his passing. Robert was born in Seguin, Texas on July 2, 1952 to parents: Florentino and Lenora Martinez.
Robert was a joyful and happy person. You would never catch him in a bad mood or upset at anyone or anything. He truly valued life and lived each day like it was his last. Being surrounded by family and close friends was always important to him.
Robert was also a hard worker, and would help anyone in need. He worked as a carpenter, specializing in tile installments for 20 years. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army where he dedicated two years of service.
In his spare time, he enjoyed music, as Tina Turner and Johnny Cash were his favorite music artists, reading, especially the Bible, and being a jokester.
Robert’s absence is deeply felt, and his physical presence will be dearly missed.
He was greeted in heaven by his: parents, his brothers: Raul Martinez, Thomas Martinez; his brother-in-law’s: Rudy Lopez, and Johnny Moreno.
He leaves to cherish in his memory; his siblings: Velma Martinez (Herman Vega), Irene Lopez, Teresa Lopez (Gilbert); Mary Reyna (Joe); Viola Quintero (Ruben), Dalia Sauceda (Richard), Clara Feenaughty (Kevin), Venus Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, and Emilio Martinez; special niece: Veronica Vega-Sosa (Ray), special nephew: Michael Vega (Rosalinda); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
