Ronald V. Garza

ronald garza
Ronald Vincent Garza, peacefully left us on March 20, 2021, at the age of 55. He was born on September 17, 1965, in New York, NY to Paul and Altagracia Garza. Roni was a sparkle of light that will forever be a guiding Starlight for his kids. He lived a passionate life filled with a love for life, family, and friends. His smile, his laughter, and his love are engraved and cherished in our souls. Roni was born to entertain and no stage or crowd was too small or too large. From the Boards of Broadway, Six Flags, The Dawn, and hundreds of stages around the world, he would perform as if it was his last performance. He always left his soul on stage, there was no other option. His passion and love for Dance, Latin Rhythms, and Theater were the founding reasons he created Latin Musical Reviews and Latin Music. Ro Ro Ro Roni will forever be remembered in our hearts, souls, and minds. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alma Herrada Garza, of 23 years, his children: Isabella Rose, Lorenzo Stefán, his parents: Altagracia Garza and Paul Garza Jr.; his siblings, and many other close relatives and friends.

  4. I did Starlight Express with Ron and he was a beautiful, talented, mischievous friend. May God bring peace to his wife, children, family and friends. Blessings, Stacia Goad-Malone

  5. I was incredibly young when I had Ron as my step-dad, so my memory of him is quite faint. But I do want to honor him because I have him to thank for the two most wonderful men in my life: My brothers Michael Andrew & Steffen Drey; Ron’s first-born sons. (The little cuties in these photos!) They truly have been the biggest blessing to my mom Marlee and me, and the four of us were incredibly saddened to hear about Ron’s passing. We look forward to seeing him in heaven one day and send our condolences to the rest of his friends and family who are grieving during this time…

  6. All I know Brittnee is I am so proud of you kids and I’m positive that Ronnie would be proud of you guys also! He sure missed out on enjoying time with and watching you all grow into the beautiful humans you are today… His family missed out also! I Love you kids (even though you’re all grown up!) Keep doing what you all do! R.I.P. RONALD V. GARZA

  7. Aww, that means a lot. Thank you so much, Unkie! 💜 It’s definitely cool that both boys followed his footsteps and became talented, charismatic entertainers. And it’s fun how many of his former Starlight cast mates Michael and I have crossed paths with over the years! Haha! I do like to think he’d be proud :)

  8. Hi Brittnee Roni’s passing is still unbelievable to me and will take time . One thing I can be sure if is really missed out on seeing how amazing you kids are. I know he would be proud and is now beaching over you with tears that wonderful Roni Garza Smile. I still cannot believe how much your brothers look like him. ( Like Roni clones he lives in you). R.I.P. my friend..

  9. Aww, THANK YOU for these wonderful, sweet words, Dwight!! I wish I could give you the biggest hug. I’m so SO sorry that you had to lose such a dear, longtime friend. And we certainly wish he was still here, too. But you’re right! The boys are totally little Ron Clones! Haha. He will certainly live on through them. And his spirit will also live on through people like you who had so many memories with him, and who he loved so much!

  10. I am so heartbroken to learn of Roni’s passing. We rarely missed a show at Six Flags. My daughter would always love getting on stage with him and dancing. Our prayers go with Roni, Alma and all the Garza family. He will always live on in our memories and hearts as we share him with generations to come. Love you Roni!

  11. I’m late to learning this & am so saddened. I was part of a skating group with Roni in the 80s. We skated at The Roxy, Laces and Roller Park in Queens. I’ll never forget when he “made it” to Starlight Express with Angel. Best wishes to his wife and children ❤️
