September 9, 1959 ~ June 14, 2005
Rosa Ivette Arus age 45 passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, June 14 2005, at Wilford Hall Medical Center after a long eight-year struggle with Lupus.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Lyn Torres. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on September 9, 1959 and was the second-oldest child in the family. She was an active member of Santa Teresita Catholic Church in Puerto Rico. After finishing High School, she worked as a secretary for Social Services from 1975-1983. In October 1983, she was engaged to and married Jose Arus. Upon Jose entering the United States Air Force that year, she followed her husband to assignments in Little Rock, Arkansas, Lakenheath, United Kingdom, Abilene and San Antonio, Texas, where they made their home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jose; son, Jose Antonio; daughter Giselle Denise; and the sparkling joy in her life, granddaughter, Denise Analyse; father, Rafael; sister, Maritza; brothers, Felito and Jose; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in Puerto Rico. Additionally, she is survived by the Military Community of family and friends who always made her feel like she was back at home.
She was a loving person with a jovial personality. Always willing to offer advice when needed to family and friends. She will be missed by all.
Visitation and Prayer service will be held Sunday, June 19, 2005 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at MeadowLawn Tribute Center, 5415 E. Houston St, San Antonio, TX. Funeral Services will be held in Puerto Rico at La Cruz Funeral Home, 1756 Fernandez Juncos Ave, Santurce, Puerto Rico.
