Rose Marie Porter was born July 10, 1949 to Leroy and Sophia Jefferson in Leavenworth, Kansas. Rose also known as Rosie, spent her childhood traveling due to her father being in the Navy. In her adult life she worked as an Optometrist for the VA Hospitals until her retirement.
Rose was married to Rev. Grady Porter from October 23, 2010 until June 17, 2024, when she gained her wings.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sophia; father, Leroy; grandson, Saverio; daughter, Rhonda and son, Grady.
Rose loved singing in the choir, shopping and loving on others. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas until relocating to San Antonio, Texas in 2021 where she united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Rosie will be remembered by her smile, fashion, talks and loving spirit. She was a faithful woman of God, loving wife, caring mother, aunt, sister, cousin, Nana and friend.
She leaves to mourn, her loving husband, Rev. Grady Porter; brother, William Woodson Jefferson; aunt, Helen Marie Logan; five sons, Johnny, Anthony, Ronald, Joshua (Brittany) and Rev. John Porter (LaTisha); daughter, Christina Ford (Arlander); Goddaughter, LaShasta Boykin (Jeff); twenty nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sis Porter was a beautiful lady inside and out. She will be dearly missed. Rest in power my sister in Christ 🙏🏾✝️

Rosie, was a wonderful Niece, I Love you, and wish I could hear you say, How are you doing Aunt Beverly. We Loved you But God Loved you the most. Rest in His arms until we meet again.
