Santos S. Ligues Jr. (Sonny), born on Dec. 25th 1948 in Nixon TX, passed away on Sept. 10th 2023 in San Antonio TX surrounded by family and friends. Santos, known to his close ones as Sonny, was born to Santos P. Ligues and Dolores S. Ligues on Christmas Day as a great gift to us all. He graduated from Brackenridge H. S., the Eagles. He was also a graduate of St. Phillips College, earning an Associate of Applied Science as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Prior to this, Santos joined the Air Force and served Honorably as a Surgical Nurse from 1968 through 1972. He helped save lives during the Vietnam War. Sonny was also a musician who played the bass and rhythm guitar, harmonica, drums, piano, and he sang with the voice of an angel.

He will be missed and is survived by his wife Elisa O. Ligues, his siblings: Bernabe and Theresa Ligues, Soila and Manuel Herrera, Sylvia Castillo, Syria and John Salazar, Senayda L. Martinez, his children: Santos E. Ligues III and Kimberly Ligues, Victoria and Chris Scott, Cynthia A. Fiala, Esmeralda and Manuel Rosas. He is also survived by his Grandchildren: Santos M. Ligues IV, Jordan X. Ligues, Aiden Z. Ligues, Jayden C. Ligues, Edmond F. Cunningham Jr., Damian T. Cunningham, Isaiah L. Cunningham, Elijah M. Cunningham, Kayla S. Cunningham, Daniel A. Deleon, Serina M. Sanchez, Amber V. Santos, Johana J. Fiala, Jeremiah J. Benton, Manuel Rosas Jr., John A. Rosas, Santos M. Rosas, Jasmine V. Rosas, Tony J. Rosas and Great Grandchildren: Marquis J. Cunningham, Alexiz A. Deleon, Aleena P. Deleon, Daniel D. Deleon, Emmanuel P. Deleon, Angie C. Sanchez, Dominick E. Sanchez Jr., Aaron J. Santos, Christopher G. Santos, Mia J. Santos, Sophia G. Santos, Richard A. Belton, Landen R. Rodriguez, Manuel A. Rosas, John M. Rosas, Levi A. Vasquez, Adonis K. Rosas, Sunny D. Rosas, Baby Rosas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends that he cherished and loved with all his heart.

Santos was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, and helped anyone that needed it. He taught love and patience and peace above all. He loved God in all his glory. If you would like to attend his burial services and pay your last respects, the service will be held on Sept. 20th 2023 at 10:45 am, arrive at 10:30 @ Fort Sam Houston Cemetery Shelter No. 5, San Antonio, TX. We will also have a celebration of life after the burial from 12:00pm – 4:00pm @ MSF Hall, 10040 Espada Rd, San Antonio, TX 78214.
